LMAO that sounded so wrong i wasn't really thinking that through xD
I'm currently working on a commission that I've been struggling with for a while. For one, KL-Sincerity's character is a challenge to begin with. On top of that, I was struggling hard with the background - with finding a piece that a) fit the commissioner's request and the character's history, b) fit the perspective of the horse stock I'd already spent hours on, and c) looked good with an unusual character (i.e. colors, business, etc). I swear, I went through dozens of different stock images and turned them all down.
Finally I decided to stalk Pantheon, and I read up on the character's... um, domain? I'm not sure what you RPers call them, but anyway, I sketched out kind of how I imagined the place to look in a way that looked good with the perspective, and then went to work trying to merge pieces together. And I still couldn't get it to work.
Finally I looked at my sketch and realized that I had drawn it with a curved horizon line, and that's why all of the stock images I was trying out didn't seem to turn out looking the way I wanted. But I really like how it looks and I am not planning on changing it - I feel it's what this manip needed to finally get going again. Anyway, I've never taken an art class, but I realize this is getting into more of a fisheye, or four and five-point perspective... and I'm a little uncertain of how to proceed with this.
Do any of you know of any good tutorials for "fisheye" perspective? Do you know of any examples of photmanipulations that have a fisheye / warped perspective applied in them, and applied well? I don't think I've ever seen wackier perspectives outside of drawing and photography, so I would love if I could look at examples of people successfully doing so in photomanips. Tutorials on how to pull it off would be great too, even if they're drawing, because hopefully I'd be able to warp things into the correct perspective. Without it looking funny. Hopefully.
Thank you all in advance! ♥ Also, get excited, because if I can pull this off it's going to be my most impressive manip to date.
