'Cause I know my weakness, know my voice, And I believe in grace and choice And I know perhaps my heart is fast, But Iíll be born without a mask ~ "Babel" by Mumford & Sons
Full view, please!
The song doesn't really fit with what I was going for, but oh well. M&S is always worth listening to.
Another commission for someone on Equidaem (I don't know whether she has a dA). She told me she wanted an Oldenburg or Holsteiner, but other than that, she gave me free rein. "Any color scheme is fine," she told me, "but preferably not pink."
...And I made it pink. Whoops.
Other than that, I can't believe how quickly I finished this. I must be getting better maybe - or maybe I'm just overlooking things and this isn't as good as my last two. I also tried a new way of painting hair; I like the wavy/curly concept but I'm not sure how well I pulled it off. Detailing grass is a pain in the derriŤre.
Hello! c: Before I start I'd like to say anything and everything in this critique is only written to help and give advice, and is in no way meant to be hurtful or harsh.
The first thing that I think could use a bit of fixing is the lighting, the horse needs bit of the orb's glow on it, the lines don't really look much like lighting so much as just outlines for the beginning of the lighting. The grass also needs to be lit up a little. I also think the hair could use a few more highlights, but not very much since it's dark. The detailing could use a little work, I can see the details, but not much, they don't particularly stand out to me. Though horse also looks a bit rough, but smudging isn't mandatory in manips, so I won't bug out about it. The horse stands out a bit too much I think, but only a bit, it could use some of the purple/red hues in it to mach the background and some soft pink for the orb's light.
Stars: Vision: 4 1/2, this manip looks really good, I don't have many complaints about it other than those stated above, it looks great! Originality: 3 1/2, a horse climbing a field, or having an orb around it isn't very original, but I rarely see them combined. Technique: 3 1/2, I think you did really good on this! The flaws were very limited, it looks like you worked really hard on it. Impact: 3 1/2, this manip didn't really have a strong impact on me, but it did catch my eye!
